"How it Will Be"––poem by Dorothy

HOW IT WILL BE

"When naked to naked goes. . ."
                                 —Yeats

All translated
 to music and light,
final frequencies
And a drift of awareness.
Familiar,
like the taste of some fruit
 you ate for breakfast
 each morning,
the voice of an old friend,
 someone you loved
singing as
she entered.

But always approaching,
never fully arriving,
this music piercing
to the root,
light invading the nerves,
the skeleton
to the edge of feeling
rapture, rapture,
however it comes
now the Beloved naked at last
pure, ultimate. . .
