The Initiation––poem by Dorothy

The Initiation

There was nothing to see.

No words were spoken.
Even afterwords
I could not describe it.
It was as if
you felt
the breath of God
on you face.
As if, at last;
things were no longer
preparation, but realization,
as words such
as holy, sanctified,
final essence
at last had a meaning,
no longer a metaphor
but a silent awareness
blossoming in the blood,
as you as a thing
were annihilated
and all that existed
was this,
placeless center of the divine,
Presence, Hallowed, Complete.
