This is the constructed world
we lived in
before we found that other,
pulsing beneath the skin
where original light and shadow
mingled,
mated,
cried out in joy,
became our soul
as we stood
in constant wonderment
at how those lovers
flowed into one another
like melting images
on a screen,
like waves becoming shore.
