The Answer (poem)
The Answer
Oh, my darlings,
there is no need
to memorize the hundred precepts
and cautions
or lose yourself
in the tangled wood
of ancient explication.
Nor must you break your spine
each day
to practice the thousand ways
to bow to god.
You hold the answer
like an invisible flower
in your hand.
The end of the journey
is where it begins.
Open your heart.
Let love flow in.
