Shhssssssh (poem)
Shhssssssh
Waves,
a jagged frenzy
shattering into light
over the rocks.
Shhssssh
On land, taffeta skirts
of belles.
At sea, sails of
a tall ship
caught in a storm.
Shhssssh
Sleds flying
down a steep white hill,
mother quieting her child.
Shhssssh
Moth
succumbing to the
candle flame,
a soul leaving.
