Gregory Orr (poem)

Gregory Orr

When you look into his eyes,
you see something profound,
something that sees
beyond the borders,
the limits
of the permissible.

He has gone
beyond the peripheries,
and entered the place
where knowledge
becomes the cells
dancing together,
celebrating the transcendence
and the grief,
the halo surrounding
the intuition
which expands and enters
and becomes
the frame of flesh
holding the
seeing
together.

When Gregory Orr was young, he accidentally shot and killed his brother in a hunting accident. This event haunted him for life. He is now one of our most distinguished poets.
