Nobody Understands This
Nobody understands this
unless they have been there.
Traveled this muddy road,
fallen into this deep well.
How could you know how it is
to have you heart
eaten by a lion
unless you had heard
the lion’s roar,
felt his clasp
upon your throat?
What could you imagine
about lost angels
floating down
on pulsing streams of light
unless your bed
was covered
in feathers
when you awoke?
