One possible explanation for aromatherapy effects:
I came across an interesting comment on the net about frankincense (one of the ingredients in my magical "Meditation Oil" solution):
"For example, frankincense contains sesquiterpenes which stimulates the limbic system of the brain (the centre of memories and emotions) and the hypothalamus, pineal and pituitary glands."
Chinese doctors sometimes use a few drops of frankincense applied to the skin to stimulate the above systems.
And from other sites I read of a woman who said that frankincense stimulated her spiritual energies, which she described as akin to but not identical with sexual energies.
And, finally, on one site frankincense was described as a magical substance with properties of an aphrodisiac.
Whatever it may be, something in my meditation oil is quite delightful--perhaps it is the frankincense stimulating the limbic system (the pleasure centers) with the result that spiritual energies are released in a delightful manner.
