Local author Dr. David P. Sharp presents his new book,
I'm a Black Man, Who are You?

Dr. Sharp is a charismatic speaker, writer and “inner”tainer. Come experience his personal journey into awareness as a youth, as he shares the life lessons learned during the turbulence of the 1960’s in the American Deep South.
From a painful introduction of what it meant to be “different” at 6 years old, to learning how to claim his own beauty, power and joy no matter what, Dr. Sharp will share how the strength of loving parents gave him his first glimpse of the power of Spirit, and the role creativity and humor can play in responding to and healing life’s deep pains.
He will sing, perform his poetry and even tap dance to illustrate how the arts contributes to the ability to meet, befriend and transcend life’s obstacles to find peace and joy!
This event is in honor of African American History Month.

Note: I have known David Sharp for many years, from the time he was a graduate student at the California Institute for Integral Studies in San Francisco. He is a delightful, thoughtful, and entertaining presenter. He will do your heart good.
