"Devoured by Love"--poem by Dorothy
Devoured by Love
The hunger of the soul
for holy sustenance
is vast
and immeasurable.
It is a like a ravening beast
that will gnaw your heart
until you faint
with delight,
a great tree of light
that will plunge
its invisible roots
into your
flesh
and suck out
your marrow
as you groan
in pleasure,
then make of you
a swooping falcon,
predator and prey,
wondering what you
did before
for food.
