Einstein on the Spirit of the Universe

Some quotes from Einstein:

"...behind all the discernible laws and connections, there remains something subtle, intangible and inexplicable...beyond anything that we can comprehend....A spirit is manifest in the laws of the Universe— a spirit vastly superior to that of man, and one in the face of which we, with our modest powers, must feel humble....If this Being is omnipotent, then every human action, every human thought, and every human feeling and aspiration is also His work....It is determined for the insect, as well as for the star.  Human beings, vegetables, or cosmic dust, we all dance to a mysterious tune intoned in the distance by an invisible player....Human beings in their thinking, feeling and acting are not free, but are as causally bound as the stars in their motions."

"To know that what is impenetrable to us really exists, manifesting itself as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty, which our dull faculties can comprehend only in their most primitive forms — this knowledge, this feeling, is at the center of true religiousness....What humanity owes to personalities like Buddha, Moses, and Jesus ranks for me higher than all the achievements of the enquiring and constructive mind."
