RUMI CELEBRATION THIS COMING SATURDAY --POURIA MONTAZERI

THIS YEAR THE EVENT WILL BE HELD AT THE SOLSTICE IN BOULDER, SATURDAY, 7-9.  INCLUDES MUSIC, DANCING, CHANT, AND THE READING OF RUMI'S POEMS IN THE ORIGINAL PERSIAN.

Here's a short video clip from last year's Dancing With the Beloved event!
Hope to see you this coming Saturday!

Pouria Montazeri added a new video:
Be melting snow...

Be melting snow,
Wash yourself of yourself.

Subhān Allāh, Lā ʾilāha ʾill ʾAllāh

—————————
Original:

From the collection of Rumi’s ‘Divan-e Shams’ (Poem # 2172). The following is the 8th line of this 9 line poem.

“…God [what you are seeking] is nearer to you than yourself
why seek outside,
Be melting snow
wash yourself of yourself…”

نزدیکتر است از تو با تو، چه روی بیرون
چون برف گدازان شو، خود را تو ز خود می شو

*Subhān Allāh (سبحان الله)

This phrase is an invitation for removing any anthropomorphic elements or associations with God and therefore an invitation for purifying our own hearts from all that we are not (false identities and associations). Thus, its literal meaning, “Glory be to God” is effortlessly proclaimed and manifested, for:

*Lā ʾilāha ʾillʾAllāh (لا اله الا الله)

“There is no-thing, but God (The One Being)”

* Video ( a very short clip from our Rumi - Dancing with the Beloved: an observance of Rumi's 'urs: 'wedding night' event at the StarHouse)(LAST YEAR)
