About Kundalini––poem by Dorothy

About Kundalini

Like any lover,
you can be wild
or soft.

You can arrive
like a tornado
roaring across
the plains,
the funnel your forewarning.

Then Shiva dances
in your body,
your flesh
quivers
in delight and you wonder
how much joy you can withstand,
whether you will survive.

Again, you may arrive
like Buddha facing
his disciples,
holding up the flower in silence,
as if to proclaim,
"See, here it is,
the revelation you are seeking,
the final truth that lives everywhere."

But if the disciple is not ready,
there are difficulties,
then only chaos and confusion ensue
and nothing can be learned.
