"The Spirit is a Passage"

And indeed, that is how it is,
one lane leading on to another,
one channel to another opening.
Each time we moved on
we thought we had arrived.
But each arrival
was merely a beginning,
a new chapter unfolding,
a new vista to capture
our attention,
each moment leading into the next
as if it had been prepared
from an invisible script,
and we the struggling travelers,
coping as best we could,
knowing there would never be
a final goal,
only more endings, more times
of starting over,
always a new discovery,
another termination,
always all in medias res.
