Yab/yum/ Shiva/Shakti
They will tell you
that this image depicts
wisdom and compassion joined,
a lovely explanation,
but look again.
The god embraces himself
as female,
and she in turn becomes
who he is.
They have been locked
together like this
for countless eons,
they will continue
into eternity.
They are telling us
that we must love
all parts
of who we are,
that which is male,
that which is female,
just as these exist in all the cosmos
in union forever
as lovers, as one.
