The Ascent
The Ascent
Do not believe that
in order to ascend,
you must follow preset concepts,
worship certain images,
or perform specified rituals.
However, you must prepare by
entering
cauldrons of fire,
forests of bewilderment,
and meetings
with unknown figures
who appear in your path.
You must feel your way
blindly ahead through darkness
and snow,
with no guide or savior
to sustain you,
to show you the way.
You will not be allowed
to measure your progress
until you reach the finish,
and by then, exhausted,
hungry,
you may not realize
you have in fact arrived,
that you have been there
all along.
