Wild Heart
Let your own wild heart
speak to you.
Listen closely to its
song.
It will lead you,
take you to the place
you are longing
to go.
It will take you safely
through deserts
and heaving seas.
It will lead you
across mountains
and forest wildernesses.
Your heart knows you,
your deepest secret
and desires.
It has been with you
forever.
Heed its syllables,
even when the language
is not your own,
even when the sound
is but a whisper
in your ear.
Do not listen
to the twitterings
and mumblings
that would lead you astray.
Listen to your heart.
Listen.
