Kali's Dance––poem by Dorothy
Kali's Dance
Kali is dancing
to the music
of the cycles
and the drumbeat
deafens our ears.
This is the time
of the darkness,
the place of desolation
and sorrow.
We know of it
through scriptures,
the verses of the prophets
and sages.
We have been warned
and we have turned aside.
Heads are tumbling,
bodies are falling,
the world is melting
before our eyes,
yet hearts are opening,
the Beloved is embracing us,
hands are turning
to light.
